Dublin Weather: Orange fire warning issued for Ireland as Met Eireann forecast scorching temperatures

An Orange fire warning has been issued for Dublin as the Agriculture Department have warned soaring heats could cause havoc on forests this week.

The country is going on blaze alert until midday on Friday with the Dublin Fire Brigade urging people to stamp out the camp fires, take care with the bbqs, and have buckets of water at the ready.

The Government has said there are high risks, particularly in the west of Ireland.

They said: "Arising from current Easterly high pressure weather conditions, forecast high temperatures and low relative humidity levels, a High Fire Risk exists in all areas where hazardous fuels such as gorse, heather, dried grasses and other dead bvegetation exist.

"Fire risk is likely to be highest in westernmost areas with lowest expected humidity levels in coming days.

"Fire behaviour may be moderated somewhat by increasing live growth content in fuels and generally low ambient windspeeds during the lifespan of this notice.

"South Western areas may experience significant windspeeds in excess of 20km/h at times."

Met Eireann has predicted temperatures to peak at 20 degrees with good spells of sunshine the whole way through.

They said: "Tuesday will continue dry and mostly sunny apart from some patchy high cloud.

"Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees with a moderate southerly breeze.

"Wednesday will be dry with good sunny spells. It will become a bit cloudier in the west later in the day. Highest temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees with moderate southeast breezes. It will be coolest in the east and south and warmest in the midlands and northwest."
