The miserable weather is set to continue for the whole of the country today as Wednesday kicks off with heavy showers and more localised thunderstorms say Met Eireann.
Some bright sunny spells may develop throughout the day but will be cancelled out by the odd shower.
Highest temperatures of 16 to 18 degrees will drop to a mild and misty 12C by night time with more isolated showers occuring.
Rain and temperatures under the 20C mark are also forecast at the moment as we head into the later days of the week - with heavy showers taking over the capital.
Here's how the rest of the week looks:
Thursday: "Misty with low cloud and a few showers at first tomorrow. Brightening up through the morning with sunny spells developing. Some heavy showers will occur later in the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 16 to 18 degrees in very light variable breezes."
Friday : "Outbreaks of rain in Ulster and north Leinster clearing early on Friday morning to give a bright day with sunny spells and scattered showers. Winds will be light to moderate southwesterly with afternoon highs of 16 to 19 degrees.
Saturday : "Current indications suggest a cloudy but dry start. A band of rain will push into Atlantic counties in the late morning, extending eastwards across the country through the day and turning heavy at times. Breezy in a fresh and gusty southerly winds and highs of 15 to 19 degrees."
Sunday : "A mixed day with sunny spells and scattered shower. The showers most frequent in the west and north. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in mostly moderate southwesterly breezes."
