Dublin weather: Met Eireann warns of windy day followed by evening rain as temperatures rise to 13C ahead of unsettled week in Ireland

Dublin is set for a windy and cloudy day today - so if you're heading outside, wrap up well.

Temperatures are going to rise a little, reaching 13C so expect some milder conditions.

By evening time there's going to be more rain pouring down, but before the night is over it will clear a little bit.

The nighttime shouldn't be too cold, with temperatures reaching up to 10C on a relatively calm night.

Then once we get to Friday, it will be a mainly dry day with sunshine although there will be a few scattered showers.

Met Eireann says: "Windy and mostly cloudy today, with patches of rain and drizzle, but good dry intervals also. However, rain and drizzle will become more widespread in the evening. Mild, with maximum temperatures of 12 or 13 Celsius, in fresh to strong south to southwest winds.

"Tonight will remain mostly cloudy, but a few clear spells will develop and it will become largely dry, with just scattered showers. A mild night, with minimum temperatures of 8 to 10 Celsius, in moderate to fresh southwesterly breezes.

"Friday will be a bright day with sunny spells and scattered showers, the showers largely dying out by evening. Maximum temperatures 10 or 11 Celsius, with moderate to fresh westerly winds, easing later."

Heading into the weekend and then next week, things will be a bit more unsettled so be prepared for a bit of everything.

Met Eireann continued: "Unsettled and changeable weather will continue over the weekend and throughout next week.

"Relatively mild at first, but turning cold at times next week. Very windy at times also, with the risk of very strong winds on Sunday, possibly stormy in Atlantic coastal counties."
