Dublin weather: Met Eireann warns of overnight frost as temperatures to drop to -2C following dry and sunny day

It may be a chilly start to Tuesday morning but Dublin has a nice day ahead despite the lower temperatures.

Met Eireann is predicting that there's a dry and sunny day in store for the capital and while it may be a bit breezy at first, that will quickly ease.

Temperatures are set to reach about 9C.

The big change will come overnight as temperatures are set to plummet to -2C. There will also be a widespread frost so if you're going to drive - be careful.

Met Eireann says: "Any remaining showers will die out this morning and the rest of the day will be dry and sunny. Breezy at first but the fresh northwest winds will ease during the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees.

"It will turn cold tonight with widespread sharp frost under mostly clear skies. Lowest temperatures between -2 and +1 degrees. Winds will be light variable."

Wednesday will continue with more of the same - a dry day, although there will be a bit more cloud than Tuesday.

Once again we can expect temperatures of around 9C.

Nighttime will give way to -2C temperatures, with Met Eireann warning that the frost will not only be widespread, but severe.

Met Eireann continued: "Tomorrow, Wednesday will be a dry day with a mix of cloud and sunshine. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees in light southerly winds.

"Tuesday night will be cold and mostly clear with a fairly widespread sharp or severe frost. Minimum temperatures of -2 to +1 degrees with light, variable breezes."
