Dublin weather: Met Eireann WARNING in place for Ireland as temperatures drop to -3C

A Met Eireann warning is still in place for parts of Ireland as Connact and Leinster battled low temperatures and ice overnight.

The weather warning is ongoing until 11am on Saturday morning after temperatures dropped to a low -4C with the coldest temperatures hitting around dawn.

Saturday morning will become dry and partly cloudy with good sunny spells during the afternoon.

Frost will develop quickly after dark though with temperatures dipping to -3C.

Speaking about Sunday, Met Eireann said: "It will be a crisp, sunny morning with frost clearing, leading to a dry and bright day with long spells of sunshine. Maximum temperatures of just 4 to 7 degrees. Winds light to moderate southerly.

"Sunday night will be a dry night. There will be long clear spells in the south and east will allow temperatures to quickly drop to between zero and minus 2 degrees.

"A little more cloud in the north and west will keep temperatures slightly higher here with lows of 1 to 4 degrees. Winds will be light to moderate southerly."

Looking into the start of next week, high pressure will dominate Ireland's weather.

Monday will be cloudier and less cold next week with a little drizzle in place but it will remain mainly dry at the start of the week.
