Dublin weather: Met Eireann warning as Storm Bella to hammer Ireland in St Stephen's Day heavy wind and rain hell

Dublin, and all of Ireland, is set to be hammered by heavy wind and rain this afternoon in an absolute wash-out of a St Stephen's Day.

After a relatively dry and clear Christmas, the Winter conditions are going to settle in - and Storm Bella is bringing absolute misery.

There are two weather warnings in in place for all of Ireland, both yellow for heavy wind and rain.

They kick in at 3pm this afternoon and will continue through to 4am on Sunday morning.

Met Eireann warns: "On Saturday (St Stephen's Day), through the late afternoon, evening and night, westerly winds associated with Storm Bella (named by UK Met Office) will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h with gusts of 90 to 110km/h. Gusts will be higher at times near the west coast.

With the combination of strong winds, high waves and forecasted storm surge, there is a risk of coastal flooding along the west coast.

"Heavy rain associated with Storm Bella will move southwards over Ireland and may cause localised flooding in some areas."

Before they kick in, we can still expect quite a few windy hours, so if you're heading outside, make sure to wrap up well as it's going to be chilly.

Temperatures will max out at 8C, and are set to go as low as 2C overnight.

There's also a possibility for frost and ice so keep that in mind.
