Dublin weather: Met Eireann forecast change as temperatures hit zero in Ireland with outbreaks of frost

Despite the dry start on Thursday morning, Met Eireann has warned that things will take a drastic turn as temperatures drop to 0C.

Thursday will be a mild but blustery day in Dublin with rain spreading from the west as the morning goes on.

Brighter weather will follow for a time in the afternoon but will be met by further outbreaks of showery rain in the evening.

High temperatures of 12C will dip to zero come night time with cloudy and blustery outbreaks of showery rain.

The rain will gradually clear with clear spells following but the low temperatures will bring frost in sheltered areas with some mist or fog developing.

For tomorrow, Met Eireann says: "Friday will be a cool, bright and dry day with good sunshine. Highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees with moderate westerly breezes."

And looking onto Saturday, Sunday and beyond they said: "The weekend and the early days of next week will be quite mild. The nights will be mostly frost free."
