Dublin weather: Met Eireann huge winter warning as four days of sub-zero cold snap hits Ireland

Met Eireann has warned of a huge winter change as three days of minus temperatures hit Ireland this week.

Tonight, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night will all see -1C as the dial drops below freezing.

Today will be a cool day with sunny spells and scattered showers by evening. Temperatures of 9C with fresh winds along the coast which will ease towards winter.

Mist or fog will form overnight and it will be cold with lowest temperatures of -1 to +3C with frost developing.

Here's how the rest of the week is looking all over Ireland:

Wednesday : "It will be dry with clear spells and some patches of mist or fog developing. Lowest temperatures of: -1 to +4C overnight, coldest in Leinster and Munster with frost developing."

 

Thursday : "It will be dry with sunny spells developing after any mist or fog clear. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees with light southerly or variable breezes."

"Thursday night will be cold and dry with patches of mist or fog and with frost developing. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +3C."

Friday : "It will continue dry with bright or sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with light easterly breezes. Friday night will be another cold night with frost in many areas, especially over the northern half of the country. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +4 degrees."


Weekend : "Saturday will be largely dry. There'll be some sunny spells over the northern half of the country. However, it will be cloudier further south. Outbreaks of rain will develop in the south during the day and will move northwards through the evening and night. Highest temperatures of 7 to 12 degrees, coldest in the north and mildest in the south with light easterly breezes."

"Sunday will be mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain in many areas. Highest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees with light easterly breezes."



Next week : "Current indications suggest that there'll be further rain or showers on Monday and a fair amount of dry weather on Tuesday and Wednesday next."
