Dublin weather: Met Eireann say when temperatures hit 22C in Ireland as mixed forecast issued

Met Eireann has said that temperatures of over 20C will hit Dublin this week in what will be an isolated day of conditions in a mixed forecast.

Wednesday will be a mild and humid day with 22C on the Mercury but it's surrounded by days of heavy bursts of rain sadly.

Today, it will be dry with sunny spells and temperatures of 18C remaining dry and cloudy overnight too as temperatures dip to 11C.

Here's how this week is looking according to Met Eireann:

TUESDAY : "Starting cloudy on Tuesday with patchy light rain and drizzle clearing eastwards in the afternoon. Becoming mostly dry with a few bright spells for late afternoon and evening. Highs of 17 to 19 degrees in a moderate southerly breeze, fresh on the coast."

WEDNESDAY : "A wet, breezy start with rain clearing eastwards to showers through the afternoon. A mild, humid day with low cloud and highs of 18 to 22 degrees, in moderate southwesterly winds, fresh to strong on coasts."

THURSDAY : "Showers with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. The showers most frequent in the west. Highs of 16 to 19 degrees, in moderate southwesterly winds, strong on northwestern coasts."

FRIDAY AND NEXT WEEKEND
: "High pressure will build in towards Ireland during Friday, the weekend, and into the early days of next week. This will bring increasingly dry and settled weather with sunny spells. A few scattered light showers on Friday and Saturday, but generally dry. Temperatures around - or slightly below - average for early September, with highs of 15 to 18 degrees."
