Dublin weather: Met Eireann say Ireland to hit 21C on Tuesday but WARNING still in place as people with hay fever set to suffer also

We were surprised but not shocked on Monday when after all the talk about it being the hottest week of the year, Met Eireann issued a status yellow weather warning for thundery showers in the afternoon.

You can never know what to expect from the Irish weather but Met Eireann says that temperatures will reach highs of 21C today, hopefully.

Tuesday will start out cloudy with some mist and fog patches, but will brighten up as the day goes on.

There will be some sunny spells developing throughout but there is a risk of a few showers in the afternoon.

Tuesday night will be dry with clear spells carrying lows of only 10 to 11 degrees.

They say that: "Warm and humid conditions this week will be conducive for the spread of potato blight."

If you suffer with hayfever, Tuesday is going to be a tough one for you also.

The pollen count is high for today, tomorrow and Thursday and is set to get even worse as the month comes to an end.

They say: "Very high pollen risk during warm, dry and sunny weather. Thunderstorms from Sunday into Monday and Tuesday will bring the risk of thunderstorm asthma so please be prepared.

"This is caused by an increase in allergens in the air ahead of the storm but there is also a risk from certain spores during warm and humid weather.

"Grass, weed and fungal spores are the allergens currently airborne."

Met Eireann still have an environmental warning in place for blight for the end of June.
