Dublin weather: Met Eireann's balmy forecast as the capital to enjoy near 20C temperatures

Good morning, folks! Met Eireann has issued a sizzling forecast for this week as temperatures will hit the highs of nearly 20 degrees.

The national forecaster said that while high pressure will continue to dominate Ireland, there may be the occasional rain or showers over the next few days. A forecaster for Met Eireann added: "Precipitation amounts will be relatively low, however, and temperatures look likely to trend mostly near to slightly above average for the time of year."

Today will be mostly dry in Dublin with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. Later, cloud will spread from the west and a few spots of light rain are expected in the evening. The highest temperatures will be around 17 or 18 degrees.

Friday night

"Cloud will thicken countrywide on Friday night with patchy rain extending from the Atlantic. Lows of 8 to 11 degrees in light variable breezes.

Saturday

"Often cloudy and damp with patchy rain and drizzle and mist patches too. Highs of 14 to 18 degrees in light southwest or variable breezes.

Saturday night

"Patchy rain and drizzle will continue on Saturday night, especially in the west and northwest. Drier and clearer intervals will develop overnight in the east and southeast. Lows of 8 to 12 degrees in light variable breezes.

Sunday

"Mostly cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle at first, breaking up into sunny spells and showers during the afternoon and evening. Top temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees generally but a little cooler in the northwest in light northerly or variable breezes."
