Dublin weather: Met Eireann predicts hottest day of year for Ireland but -2C and wintry conditions to hit

Met Eireann predicts that Ireland will see another record day for temperatures with the celsius remaining at 16C on Thursday.

It will be mild and bright today will sunny spells of bright sunshine developing after a damp and misty start with fog in parts.

Looking to tomorrow, temperatures are set to take a dip to 12C but Friday will still be a dry day with a mix of cloud and sunshine.

Over the weekend, freezing temperatures will take over the country as some areas even experience wintry conditions and minus temperatures following the few days of sunshine with the celsius set to take a 18C swing.

After dark, it will turn cold with long clear spells and widespread frost and overnight lows of -2 to +1 degrees.

Sunday will have a cold start with frost clearing as the day goes on bringing with it bright spring sunshine but still feeling cool throughout.

Highest temperatures will range from 7 to 9C falling to overnight lows of 0 to 4 degrees with the odd wintry shower and frost in parts.

Saturday will be an overall dry day with a mix of cloud and sunny spells.
