Dublin weather: Met Eireann predict 20C today for Ireland but there's bad news on the way as THUNDERRAIN to end summer sunshine

The mercury might be reaching the 20s but Met Eireann says that there's bad weather on the way for the rest of the week.

Wednesday will see highs of 20C but heavy bursts of rain will interfere leading to some wet weather as the day goes on.

Temperatures in the night time will fall to 10 degrees with showery rain developing but clearing in the east coast early in the night.

There will be bright and sunny spells on Thursday with temperatures staying in the high teens.

But the sun will be met with cloudy conditions along with the odd passing shower as a band of persistent rain sticks over the country into the night time.

The warm and humid temperatures of Friday will not bring with it good weather as rain turns heavy in places.

The rain will be countrywide and will even feature some thundery downpours despite temperatures being as high as 22C.

For the weekend, they say: "Saturday and Sunday will see some bright or sunny spells each day, but showers too, some of these heavy, especially inland, with a few prolonged and possibly thundery.

"Top temperatures in the high teens or low twenties and feeling warm and humid at times.

"Winds light to moderate south to southwesterly. Humid each night with temperatures in the low to mid teens. Further rain or showers each night also.
