Dublin weather: Met Eireann issue advisory for 'hail, sleet and snow' across Ireland

A weather advisory has been issued for all of Ireland, including Dublin, warning the public of possible hail, sleet and snow on higher ground.

It will be in place from 6pm on Sunday, January 26 and will continue through to 3pm on Tuesday, January 28.

Met Eireann issued the advisory just after 7pm this evening.

While the worst of it can be expected in Ulster and Connact - we're still at risk of the wintry conditions in Leinster.

Met Eireann said: "Cold and wintry weather will develop from Sunday evening. Showers of hail, sleet and snow will occur in places. Snow showers most frequent in Ulster and Connacht and especially so on high ground."

The weather is expected to take a cold and unsettled turn beginning tomorrow night following a cold and blustery day in the capital.

Met Eireann is warning that there will be longer showers of rain, sleet and possibly even snow.

Temperatures are also expected to drop as low as -1C. By the middle of the week they will have dropped as low as -2C.
