Dublin weather: Met Eireann forecasts when sunny spells will hit the capital

Happy Friday, folks. We have some good news this morning (for a change) as Met Eireann has revealed when Dublin will enjoy glorious sunshine.

This is a much-needed change after the rather gloomy weather we've seen over the past week or so.

The capital will bask in sunny spells today although some scattered showers are expected which will become more isolated in the evening. Temperatures will 11C to 12C.

Tonight will be dry with some clear spells and lowest temperatures will be of 6C to 7C.

More sunshine expected tomorrow but there may be some scattered showers during the day.

It'll be a cool day with temperatures reaching the maximum of 13C.

A Met Eireann forecaster has said that it will be cooler than average for this time of the year.

Saturday night

Speaking about the national outlook, they said: "Some isolated showers in the northwest early in the night, but otherwise, it will be dry with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 4C to 7C with light to moderate northwest winds.

Sunday

"Sunday will be dry with sunny spells during the morning, but becoming cloudier during the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 10C to 13C with light to moderate northwest winds, backing west to southwest."

Sunday night

"Rain will move into the northwest early on Sunday night and will move southeast across the country overnight.

"Moderate to fresh south to southwest winds, strong at times near coasts in the west and north. Lowest temperatures of 5C to 9C, occurring early in the night.

Monday

"Rain will clear southern and eastern areas on Monday morning and will be followed by sunny spells and scattered showers.

"Showers will be most frequent in the west and north. A cool and blustery day with fresh northwesterly winds, strong near coasts, and highest temperatures of 11C to 14C.

Monday night

"Showers or longer spells of rain will move southwards across the country on Monday night and it will stay breezy, particularly in the west and south where there will be fresh to strong north to northwest winds. Lowest temperatures of 4C to 8C.

Tuesday

"Tuesday is looking like a mostly dry day with spells of sunshine. Staying cool in a northerly breeze with maximum temperatures of 11C to 13C.

Further outlook

"Current indications are for a good deal of dry weather on Wednesday and Thursday, with little change in daytime temperatures."
