Dublin weather: Met Eireann forecasts warm and humid weekend ahead with possible 'thundery' surprises

Good morning, folks! Met Eireann has forecast another warm weekend ahead of us but it might not be as sunny as the June bank holiday weekend.

The national forecaster has predicted today will be warm and humid. It will be "rather cloudy" with some hazy sunny spells and possible occasional showers in the afternoon and evening.

There is even a chance of heavy or thundery downpours. Those of you going to Harry Styles' Slane Castle gig however need not fret, as the weather forecast is favourable for Slane and showers are only expected there later in the evening.

Back in Dublin, the highest temperatures today will reach 19 to 20 degrees, in a light to moderate southeasterly breeze.

Met Eireann's forecast for the tonight says it will be a "very mild and muggy" evening. While showers are possible overnight, much of the night will likely be dry.

They have also predicted a mix of cloud and clear spells with some mist or fog forming overnight. Thankfully, temperatures will not fall below 13 to 15 degrees, with light southeasterly winds.

There will be high levels of pollen today and tomorrow, and the Solar UV Index shows moderate to high levels for the weekend so don't forget to put your sunscreen on.

According to the national forecaster, tomorrow will have a "quite cloudy" start with lingering mist or fog slowly clearing. Warm sunny spells will develop as the day progresses.

There is a chance of a few showers developing, possibly turning heavy later. It will be humid, with highest temperatures being 20 to 23 degrees with a light southerly breeze.

While Met Eireann don't have Dublin-focused forecasts for after tomorrow, here is what they have to say about the national outlook:

Sunday night

Monday

"Very warm with scattered showers, some possibly heavy or thundery. Temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees. Partly cloudy with good sunny spells and sea breezes. Coastal fog likely.

Monday night

"Lingering showers early in the night will clear becoming dry. Mist and fog will return during the night. Mild, with temperatures not falling below 13 or 14 degrees.

Tuesday

"Very warm with sunny spells and scattered heavy showers or thunderstorms. Highest temperatures of 23 to 26 degrees, maybe reaching 27 degrees in some spots, with just a light breeze aside from sea breezes. Some coastal fog likely again.

"Further heavy showers or thunderstorms are likely to develop during the day. Plenty of hazy sunshine expected too. Highs again likely to be around 23 to 27 degrees with little to no wind away from coasts."

There will be little change after Tuesday, "continuing very warm with scattered heavy showers developing during the day".
