Dublin weather: Met Eireann forecasts two days of glorious 21C temperatures but a big change is on the way

Morning, folks. It’s Thursday and that means it's not too long left until the weekend.

Luckily for you we’ve got some good news as the weekend is set to see some great 20C plus weather.

But first, let’s talk about what’s in store today. Today will be mostly dry with sunny spells and some isolated showers. It will be a balmy 15C to 17C.

Similar conditions will continue into tonight as it’ll be dry with clear spells with temperatures of 9C to 11C.

Tomorrow will start mainly dry with sunny spells but clouds will develop in the morning. Lunch time will bring outbreaks of rain but it’ll quickly turn sunny again later in the afternoon.

There is no local forecast but the national outlook says the weekend will bring some lovely 20C plus temperatures.

But there is some bad news as rain will dominate a lot of the next week with Met Eireann warning of “unsettled weather”.

Here’s what the forecast looks like for the rest of the days:

Friday night

A Met Eireann forecaster said: “The outlook for Friday night is for mainly dry and clear conditions with just isolated showers in the north. Temperatures will be down to between 9C and 11C with mostly moderate southwest to west winds.”

Saturday

“Saturday will be mostly dry with sunshine to start.

“Cloud and rain will develop in the north of the country and there'll be a little drizzle on western and eastern coasts at times, the midlands and south will have the best of any sunshine.

“Highest temperatures 15C to 19C with moderate to fresh southwest to south winds.”

Sunday

“Sunday will be a warmer day with temperatures of 20C to 21C in the afternoon as winds go southerly in direction. It'll be mostly dry too with some sunshine breaking through in the midlands, coastal counties look like being cloudier with maybe some mist and drizzle, especially at the coast.”

Monday

“Monday will be rather cloudy in the west with outbreaks of rain, the east will be drier with some sunshine and temperatures of 20C or 21C in southerly winds.”

Further outlook

“The current indications are for unsettled weather for midweek with rain at times.”
