Dublin Weather: Met Eireann forecast rocketing temperatures for Ireland - but will there be any more heavy thundery showers?

Dublin's temperature boost is set to stay for the weekend as Met Eireann have forecast two great days following heavy showers on Wednesday.

Yesterday saw heavy rain belt the capital although heats didn't drop with most places reading in the high teens or low twenties.

Today will be just as warm, and although there's a chance of some showers later in the day it looks like it's going to be largely dry.

Met Eireann said: "Today will start of mostly cloudy in Dublin with some patchy rain or drizzle in, which will clear eastwards this morning. It will brighten up from the west with sunny spells.

"This afternoon will be largely dry with just the chance of one or two showers. Highest temperatures of 18 to 20 degrees, with moderate westerly breezes.

"Tonight will be dry with clear spells and some patches of mist. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees.

"Friday will be mainly dry with sunny spells. There may be a few isolated showers. Highest temperatures of 18 to 20 degrees with moderate northwest breezes.

The forecaster has yet to make a specific Dublin prediction for the weekend, but says current indications Ireland could hit 25 degrees on Sunday.

"So Saturday and Sunday will both be dry with sunny spells. For Saturday, temperatures will reach between 17 and 21 degrees with light northerly breezes. Sunday will be warmer with values ranging from 20 to 25 degrees and mainly easterly breezes."
