Dublin weather: Met Eireann forecast more thunder and wintry showers for Ireland as temperatures dip to -3C

Met Eireann has warned of more thunder and wintry showers as they issue their forecast for this weekend and the coming week.

The National Forecaster says that temperatures will also dip to a low -3C on Sunday night with widespread frost expected.

Saturday will be mainly dry at first with bright spells but it will become mostly cloudy with rain developing by late morning or early afternoon.

Temperatures of 11C will dip to 3C overnight with outbreaks of rain but clearer and mainly dry conditions will develop towards morning.

Sunday will be cold with sunny spells and scattered showers, a few of them possibly heavy with a risk of hail and a slight risk of thunder.

However, the scattered showers will die out later with temperatures of 9C will swing to a low -3C by night.

Sunday night will be mainly dry with clear spells but very cold with widespread frost and coldest temperatures expected in the eastern half of the country.

Looking to the end of next week and Met Eireann says that it will be cold but mainly dry with sunny spells by day.

But, a few scattered showers will occur in areas on Wednesday and Thursday some of which may possibly be wintry.

Temperatures will be colder than normal with maximum daytime temperatures of 6 to 9C followed by frosty nights.
