Dublin weather: Met Eireann forecast more rain and mist for capital but there is a welcome change in the air

Friday is going to be cloudy and misty with outbreaks of drizzle and rain forecast for Dublin, according to Met Eireann’s latest forecast. So similar to yesterday really.

Here;' that silver lining though: Things look set to improve this afternoon, with the weather bureau forecasting drier and "brighter intervals developing" towards teatime.

And that's the weather outlook where ever you are, with sunny spells becoming less and less shy as the evening draws in right across Ireland.

Hay fever sufferers be warned though, the pollen forecast for today and tomorrow is high.

Tonight will be cold however. Largely dry in Dublin, with top temperatures of just 6C.

Tomorrow:

Saturday will begin well, with sunny spells in the east and north at first, Met Eireann reports.

However, all this niceness will gradually give way to thickening cloud from the southwest accompanied by increasingly gusty southeasterly winds, and of course rain, which will be considerate enough to "extend countrywide”.

Top temperatures tomorrow of 15 to 19 degrees.

Sunday:

Father’s Day - and it promises to deliver a mix of cloud, sunshine and passing showers. Maximum temperatures will be around 18C.

Monday:

"Current indications suggest” - hmmmm - Monday will be mostly cloudy and windy with outbreaks of drizzle. Top temperature: 19C.

Tuesday:

The weather experts hold their hands up and admit that “details are somewhat uncertain at this stage” - but the unsettled “theme” of the past few days looks set to continue"..

Enough - we’re done here.
