We’re in for a largely dry day in Dublin , the experts predict, after a cool and cloudy start to the weekend.
Met Eireann say this of the day ahead in the capital: "Cool and dry for most of today. Cloudy to start with a little rain in parts for a short-time but breaking up to give good sunny spells.

"Top temperatures 9 to 11 degrees. Moderate easterly breezes will be fresh at times in coastal areas.”
Tonight will see the mercury plunge however, and it could get as cold as zero degrees tonight as a cold mist sets in across the city, Met Eireann inform us.

They add: "Cold overnight, with clear spells and with some frost in rural areas. Lowest temperatures zero to plus 3 C., in light northeasterly breezes.
"A few mist or fog patches also.”
Sunday looks like it’ll be slightly warmer in Dublin, but not much.

Met Eireann say of tomorrow’s weather for the capital: "Tomorrow will be mainly dry and bright, with a mix of cloud and sunny spells.
"Top temperatures of 10 to 12C, in a moderate easterly breeze.”
Looking ahead, Met Eireann’s national outlook for next week doesn’t look much better, the keywords being "rain" and "fresh".
Eastern coastal counties can expect showers tomorrow evening, they say, while Monday promises more of the same.

The Glasnevin-based weather gurus go on: "Monday will bring some dry bright spells, but scattered showery rain in places also. The rain mainly affecting the southern half of the country.
"Top temperatures 10 to 12 C., in eastern coastal counties, but 13 to 15 C., elsewhere. Winds moderate locally fresh easterly."
