Dublin weather: Met Eireann 5-day forecast as major change hits this weekend in Ireland with unwanted turn

Met Eireann has issued their five-day forecast ahead of the weekend and it's not a pleasant one.

There will be rain and lots of it today according to the National Forecaster with cloudy and breezy conditions and temperatures of 12C.

Tonight will continue to be cloudy with outbreaks of rain staying mild and breezy overnight with temperatures remaining the same as day time.

Tomorrow morning will start cloudy with some outbreaks of rain, but will be followed by mostly dry weather with sunny spells and just the chance of isolated showers.

And while it's expected to remain cool and mostly dry on Sunday, it will turn wet early next week with a slight increase in temperatures.

Here's how the rest of the weekend is looking and into next week:

Saturday night : "Mostly dry with clear spells, although there will be some scattered showers in the northwest. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees, coldest in the south and east, with light to moderate southwesterly winds."

Sunday : "Largely dry with varying cloud cover, so there will be sunshine at times. There will be a few showers too, mainly affecting the west and northwest. It will be a cold day with afternoon temperatures of just 6 to 9 degrees, but light to moderate southwesterly winds continuing."

Monday : Rain in the west and northwest early in the morning will spread across the country through the day and will be heavy at times. South to southwest winds will increase moderate to fresh and it will become milder, with afternoon temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees."

Tuesday : "Rain is likely to persist across the south during Tuesday, with drier but cloudy conditions further north. A cold day in most areas with afternoon temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees, but a few degrees higher in the south and southeast."
