Dublin weather: Met Eireann 10 hour warning as 'hazardous' conditions on the way

Met Eireann has issued a 10-hour weather warning as hazardous conditions will hit Dublin.

A Status Yellow alert for fog will be in place from midnight on Tuesday until 10 am.

The warning is in place for Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Leitrim, Roscommon, and Sligo.

A forecaster said: "Dense fog in places leading to hazardous driving conditions."

Here is the forecast for the rest of the week from Met Eireann:

TOMORROW - TUESDAY 2ND MARCH

"Tomorrow will be a dry and bright day with good spells of sunshine, though becoming cloudier by evening. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees Celsius in light easterly or variable breezes.

NATIONAL OUTLOOK

OUTLOOK: "Mostly settled with some sunny spells and frost at night. However, becoming cloudier and cooler as the week progresses.


TUESDAY NIGHT: "Generally dry under broken cloud with just the slight risk of some light showers in the southeast by morning. Localized frost where skies stay clear, along with some mist and fog patches. Lowest temperatures -1 to + 3 degrees, holding milder along the southern coast, in light easterly or variable breezes.

WEDNESDAY: "Some stray showers possible across Leinster and east Munster. Though most other areas staying dry and mostly cloudy, with occasional sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 7 to 12 degrees, coolest for north and northeast counties, in light north to northeast breezes.


WEDNESDAY NIGHT: "Dry and mostly cloudy with just occasional clear spells. However, there is a risk of patchy frost and fog. Lowest temperatures 1 to + 4 degrees in light northerly breezes.

THURSDAY: "A duller and cooler day overall. Mostly dry, though isolated patches of drizzle may occur along the coast. Highest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees, in mostly light easterly breezes.

THURSDAY NIGHT: "Mostly cloudy in the southwest with some patchy rain or drizzle at times. Dry with occasional clear spells elsewhere with patchy frost possible in sheltered spots. Lowest temperatures 1 to + 4 degrees, in light easterly breezes.

FRIDAY:
"Mostly cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle at times in Munster. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees in light southeasterly breezes.


FRIDAY NIGHT:
"Cloudy with rain extending from the Atlantic to western counties, becoming patchier as it extends inland with eastern coastal counties staying largely dry. Lowest temperatures 2 to 6 degrees in light to moderate southeasterly breezes."
