The last of the interrupted summer sunshine will apparently end for Dublin today according to Met Eireann.
The National Forecaster is predicting a generally dry and sunny day on Tuesday with 27C temperatures before a massive dip is expected tomorrow.
Patchy cloud will increase by evening with showery rain predicted overnight followed by a 14C temperature swing on Wednesday as the Celsius will "struggle" to get into the mid-teens.
Here's the long-range forecast:
Wednesday : "It will be a much cooler and blustery day. Cloudy to start with some residual showers initially, brighter conditions will follow by midday. In fresh northerly breezes temperature will struggle to get to 13 to 16 degrees."
Met Eireann say that: "as the airflow over Ireland switches to the north a much cooler and blustery second half of the week is in store."
Thursday : "A cool damp day with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle extending southeastwards during the morning, becoming patchier through the course of the day with occasional sunny spells later. Winds will be moderate to fresh northwesterly with high temperatures just 12 to 16 degrees."
Friday : "Currently looking to be another cool, damp and breezy day with rain extending southeastwards across the country, heaviest in the northwest. Northwest winds will be moderate to fresh and gusty, strong near coasts. High temperatures will range from 12 to 16 degrees, warmest in the southeast. Friday night will be generally dry and mostly clear, however showers will persist along northern coasts overnight. Lows will dip to 4 to 7 degrees in moderate to fresh northwesterly breezes."
Saturday : "A mostly sunny start will give way to cloudier and showery conditions during the day, however remaining relatively dry in the south with highs of just 9 to 14 degrees in mostly fresh northwesterly breezes. Saturday night: Showers persisting in the northwest overnight, mostly dry elsewhere with variable cloud cover and lows of 5 to 7 degrees in light to moderate northwesterly breezes."
Further outlook : "Sunday looks similar to Saturday with some showers developing most frequent in the northwest, current indications are that winds will back southwesterly on Monday and temperatures will begin to recover."
