Dublin weather: Hell week for Ireland as Met Eireann forecasts heavy conditions in big change

Met Eireann has forecast another hellish week for the country as the whole of Ireland will be hit with heavy and persistent rain this week from today right up until the weekend.

Tuesday will be generally cloudy this morning with scattered showers continuing throughout the day.

The showers will be heavy and will die out by evening with temperatures remaining around the 13C mark.

Tonight will be mostly dry with the odd isolated shower and the Celsius dropping to a low 6C.

Here's how the next few days are looking according to Met Eireann:

Tomorrow: "Wednesday will begin dry. There will be good sunshine during the day but cloud will increase from the southwest in the afternoon, ahead of persistent rain moving in during the evening. Highest temperatures of 14 or 15 degrees in light to moderate westerly breezes, backing southerly ahead of the rain."

Thursday: "A wet start for most but dry and bright conditions in the west will spread eastwards as the rain clears into the Irish Sea by the afternoon with sunny spells and isolated showers following. There is a chance of some rain and drizzle moving into southern coastal counties towards the evening. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees over the northern half of the country and 14 to 16 degrees further south. Moderate to fresh westerly winds will ease during the afternoon."

Friday: "The rain in the northwest will move southeastwards during the morning but becoming patchier as it tracks across the country, clearing to sunny spells and showers which will become widespread, with some longer spells of rain at times. A cool day with highest temperatures of just 9 to 13 degrees in mainly moderate westerly breezes but fresh on Atlantic coasts."

Saturday: "A cool day with sunny spells and scattered showers expected. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in moderate northwesterly breezes. Showers will become more isolated overnight leaving a chilly night with long clear spells and lowest temperatures of 3 to 7 degrees."

Further outlook
: "Current indications suggest that it will be cool but mainly dry for Sunday with more settled conditions for early next week that recently but still some rain and showers are likely at times."
