Dublin weather: Goodbye heatwave as temperature drop and massive change hitting Ireland today says Met Eireann

You can start waving goodbye to the heatwave that took over our Bank Holiday weekend and most of last week because Met Eireann is predicting a massive change for Dublin starting from today.

This morning will be dull with the odd light shower - yes, the wet thing coming from the sky is back sadly - but it will remain mostly dry today with good sunny spells developing later.

Temperatures will drop by about 10C to between 15-17C with tonight largely dry with clear spells also.

But, Thursday, Friday and Saturday will all see the possibility of outbreaks of rain and scattered showers with temperatures struggling to break the mid-teens.

Here's the outlook for the next few days:

THURSDAY : "Tomorrow will bring a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, though most areas will be dry in the evening. Cooler than average with highest temperatures 14 to 16 degrees Celsius. Northwest breezes will be mostly moderate, occasionally fresh."

FRIDAY : "Sunny spells and scattered showers will occur during the morning and afternoon. However, they will become mainly confined to the northwest in the evening with good sunshine to end the day generally. A breezy day, with moderate to fresh and gusty northwest winds, strong near coasts. Highest temperatures 12 to 16 degrees Celsius, mildest in the southeast."

SATURDAY : "Starting off dry and mostly sunny across the southern half of the country, however a band of rain will sink down from the north with cool, wet and breezy weather extending countrywide into the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of just 9 to 13 degrees Celsius, in fresh northwest winds."

SUNDAY : "Currently the drier, brighter and milder day this weekend. Most areas will be dry with sunny spells, in moderate northwest breezes. Highest temperatures 12 to 18 degrees Celsius, mildest across southern and eastern counties."
