Dublin weather: Four days of 'cyclonic' conditions as TWO warnings issued in Ireland by Met Eireann

Met Eireann has promised four days of "cyclonic wind" conditions for the capital as two warnings are in place for Ireland until late on Tuesday.

Any early morning mist will clear today remaining mostly dry across areas during the day. There will be sunny spells with just the odd shower with highest temperatures of 18C dropping to 11C overnight.

Tonight will see the first of those cyclonic winds with very wet and windy weather leading to persistent falls of rain.

Met Eireann say: "Cyclonic variable winds will increase fresh to strong and gusty winds with flooding possible too."

Elsewhere, a status yellow wind warning is in place for Munster, Carlow, Kilkenny and Wexford from 6am Tuesday until 9pm that night.

Met Eireann warns: "It will become very windy on Tuesday as strong southwest winds veer westerly with widespread mean speeds between 50 and 65km/h and gusts between 90 and 110km/h, higher in coastal areas."

Also, a status yellow rainfall warning is in place for the whole of Ireland.

This means: "Intense rainfall is expected at times Monday night and on Tuesday. Falls of 30 to 50mm are expected with surface flooding."

Met Eireann added: "This rainfall will further elevate river levels and may result in river flooding also."

That warning is in place for 24 hours and is valid from 9pm tonight until 9pm Tuesday.

Here's how the rest of the week is looking:

Tomorrow : "Very wet and very windy on Tuesday with torrential downpours and the continued risk of flooding. Cyclonic variable winds will veer west to northwest with fresh to strong and possible gale force winds at times. Some mild sunny spells too; highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees Celsius."

OUTLOOK : "Staying unsettled over the coming days, however the weekend will bring drier and quieter conditions."

WEDNESDAY : "Most areas will be dry with sunny spells and just well scattered showers - most of these across the west and southwest. Mild, with highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees Celsius, in just light westerly breezes."

THURSDAY and FRIDAY : "Becoming unsettled again with showers merging into some longer spells of rain and the risk of isolated thunderstorms. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees Celsius on Thursday, with light to moderate cyclonic variable breezes. Cooler on Friday as northerly breezes set in, with afternoon highs of 14 to 18 degrees Celsius."

THIS WEEKEND : "Drier and calmer with sunny spells and well scattered showers. However, it will feel fresh with moderate northwest breezes."
