Dublin weather: Four day hell as Met Eireann issue 'vigorous, damaging' warnings for all of Ireland

Met Eireann has issued a four day weather advisory for the whole of Ireland with conditions rocking the country tonight, over the weekend and into Monday.

They say that "very unsettled weather will occur over the Halloween weekend".

This is caused by a "vigorous Atlantic weather system" which will pass very close to Ireland.

There will be spells of heavy rain which will lead to surface and river flooding and it will be very windy and stormy at times with "severe and damaging" gusts possible.

They added: "Some coastal flooding possible also due to the combination of low pressure, high tides and onshore winds with very high seas."

This advisory is in place from 9pm tonight until 6pm on Monday but it's also matched with a wind warning for the whole of Ireland too.

The status yellow monster means: "Strong to gale force southerly winds will veer westerly. Some severe gusts are possible."

This warning is in place from 1am on Saturday until 3pm on Saturday afternoon.

Here's how they're predicting today and the next few days will look in Dublin:

Today : "Rain and drizzle will clear eastwards this morning leaving a mainly dry day with bright spells and just the odd isolated shower. Feeling fresh with highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in mostly moderate southwest or west breezes."

Tonight : "A dry and mostly clear start to the night. However, it'll become wet and very windy later as rain sweeps in from the south accompanied by strong to gale force south or southeast winds. Some severe gusts occurring towards dawn. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees, occurring early in the night but turning much milder later with temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees by dawn on Saturday."

Saturday : A wet and possibly stormy day with widespread and often heavy rain continuing through the day. The rain will begin to clear northwards through the evening followed by scattered showers and clear spells. A mild start with highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees but becoming cooler through the afternoon with strong southerly winds veering westerly through the day."

Sunday : "Rain will clear the northeast early on with scattered outbreaks of rain remaining, becoming heavy and more persistent in southern areas once again during the afternoon. Fresh southwest winds will ease mainly moderate through the day but will be strong on west and northwest coasts. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees."

Monday : "Cool and unsettled on Monday with heavy showers but some sunny spells will develop through the day. Highest temperatures of just 8 to 11 degrees in moderate to fresh southwest winds, strong on coasts."

Further outlook : "Current indications are for further showery conditions on Tuesday before high pressure builds, for the middle of the week, bringing more settled conditions."
