Dublin weather forecast: Temperatures continue to soar over 20C with Met Eireann delivering great weekend news

Dublin has been bathing in unseasonably warm weather and the good news is there's no sign of it letting up with a great weekend in store.

The mercury will burst the 20C barrier once again with Met Eireann saying the city will enjoy highs of 21C with plenty of warm hazy sunshine.

It will remain dry tonight and will be quite humid with temperatures of 12 to 15C.

We can expect more of the same on Thursday although the forecaster has warned that there may be a chance of a few well scattered showers.

And with Dubliners now subjected to tighter restrictions in the ongoing battle against coronavirus, the weather gods are being kind and making it easier to host outdoor gatherings this weekend.

The national outlook for the Saturday and Sunday is very promising although it will be slightly cooler.

Here's what the forecaster says is in store:

Friday: " Dry in many areas with good sunny spells - just a few light showers in the west and northwest. Highest temperatures 16 to 21C, mildest or warmest across the western half of Ireland, in mostly moderate easterly breezes."

Saturday and Sunday: " Most areas will stay dry with sunny spells, though the odd shower will affect the east coast.

"Feeling fresher with highest temperatures of 14 to 18C, coolest up along the east coast where it will be also be breezy. However, northeast breezes will be just light inland."

Monday will remain dry and sunny although current indications are that things will become more unsettled later in the week.
