Dublin weather forecast: Rain set to hit as nighttime temperatures plummet

Rain is set to hit the capital from tomorrow as nighttime temperatures continue to plunge.

Today will be dry with sunny spells and highest temperatures of 13C.

But as the evening draws in, it's expected to get as cold as 3C with Met Eireann predicting rain to hit tomorrow.

Wednesday morning will start out dry but the rain is set to hit in the afternoon and evening.

And as the bank holiday weekend approaches, it's expected to get very cold with temperatures dropping to as low as -1C.

Thursday will see heavy showers in the west and northwest with scattered heavy showers in other areas.

Friday could see heavy and persistent showers with a chance of spot flooding in some areas.

The national forecast for the weekend reads: "An uncertain outlook at this stage, both as regards temperatures and rainfall.

"At the moment however, indications point towards cool bright and calm weather, but very cold after dark with widespread frost."
