Dublin weather forecast: Met Eireann warns of risk of hail and thunder as mixed bag of sunny spells, wind and rain in store for Ireland

A mixed day of conditions set for Dublin with sunshine, rain, hail and thunder all set for the capital.

Met Eireann has said that the risk of hail and thunder barrelling down will be in place over the day.

But overall we can expect sunshine and some rain in parts - with temperatures reaching a nippy 7C at their highest.

The wind will be quite blustery so be prepared for anything.

Met Eireann says: "Sunny spells and passing showers for much of the day and there is a risk of hail and thunder. Towards evening showers will become more isolated. Highest temperatures of 5 to 7 degrees. Breezy with fresh westerly winds, blustery around showers.

"Good clear spells at first tonight and mainly dry. Later in the night cloud will thicken and rain will develop. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 3 degrees early in the night. Winds will moderate for a time but it will become breezy again later."

As for the rest of the week, it looks like Thursday will have more of the same windy and sometimes wet conditions.

More rain is expected on Friday, with some showers turning wintry in Ireland.
