Dublin weather forecast: Met Eireann warns of chilly end to weekend before unsettled conditions with heavy rain make way to Ireland

A chilly end to the weekend is in store for Dublin, as we looked to an unsettled week that's going to bring heavy showers.

Sunday is expected to be a dry day in the capital although we can expect the risk of a shower or two later on.

It's going to remain chilly, with temperatures only reaching a maximum of 8C before a cold night that will see conditions drop to as low as -1C.

There will also be fog settling in once again overnight.

Met Eireann says: "Frost and any mist patches will clear early this morning. Skies clearing through the late morning and early afternoon to give a mostly dry day with good spells of sunshine, however, isolated showers are possible later.

"Highest temperatures of 7 to 8 degrees in light to moderate, northerly winds.

"Dry and cold tonight with clear skies. Frost will form with minimum temperatures of minus 1 to plus 2C, coldest inland in a light onshore northeasterly breeze. Fog may also form in sheltered spots."

As for the week starting on Monday, Met Eireann says conditions are going to become milder but with it comes more rain.

We'll see the worst of it starting on Wednesday when the heavy showers are expected to set in.

That's looking likely to continue into Thursday and Friday, though a more detailed forecast is expected early in the week.
