Dublin weather forecast: Met Eireann warns of blustery end to week with wintry showers expected and risk of snow on higher ground

Dublin is set for a blustery Friday as we head into the weekend, with showers until the early afternoon.

Temperatures are expected to reach 8C at their highest, and the winds are expected to be quite gusty.

As for tonight, there's going to be scattered showers - and some of those will be wintry.

Temperatures are going to drop as low as 0C, so it 's going to be a chilly one.

Met Eireann says: "A cool, blustery and largely cloudy day with showers through the morning and early afternoon. Highs of 6 to 8°C. Westerly winds will be strong and gusty.

"Tonight, there will be scattered showers with some turning wintry on high ground. Minimum temperatures generally ranging from zero to plus 3 degrees. Westerly winds becoming fresh to strong."

Heading into the weekend, Saturday is expected to be another day of mixed conditions.

Wintry showers are expected once again, with temperatures reaching 7C at their highest.

Met Eireann continued: "A mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers on Saturday, the showers again will be heavy at times and wintry on hills. Feeling cold with highs of just 4 to 7°C in fresh to strong and gusty southwesterly winds."

Current indications are that Saturday night will see some snowfall on higher grounds.

Sunday will finish the weekend with frosty conditions.
