A sunny mild day is in store for Dublin ahead of warm 16C temperatures on Thursday.

While we can expect a bit of cloud, the capital will be mainly sunny with temperatures reaching 14C.

Tonight will be a cold one, with some mist forming along with fog. Temperatures will bottom out at 0C, and some frost will settle in parts.

Tomorrow is the big one - with the hottest day of the week arriving.

It'll be a dry and bright say, but will get colder by the nighttime.

Met Eireann says: "A mainly dry day. Some sunny spells, but cloudy periods at times too. Top temperatures 12 to 14 C., in light to moderate southwest to west breezes.

"Cold tonight with some clear spells developing in slack variable breezes. Mist will form with some fog here and there. Lowest temperatures zero to plus 2 C., with some grass frost also.

"Thursday will be a dry, bright day, with good sunny spells, with early mist, frost and fog clearing quickly. But a few patches of mist or fog may linger in a few coastal areas. Top temperatures 14 to 16 C., in moderate south to southwest breezes.

"Cloud will increase across the west and northwest on Thursday night with patchy rain and drizzle developing in Atlantic coastal counties before dawn. Lows of 2 to 6 degrees Celsius, coldest under clear spells in Munster and Leinster, with a local rural grass frost."

While Dublin is expected to remain dry over the weekend, there could be spots of rain on Friday nightand early Saturday.

The lowest temperatures will be -1C and that's expected on Sunday night when widespread frost will settle.

Temperatures will drop slightly during the day, but not enough to have any real effect on our dry and sunny Spring days.

"Cold each night, with lows of -1 to plus 2 C., with a widespread frost and possibly some patches of mist and fog also."
