Dublin forecast: Met Eireann issues Ireland with 'high temperature weather warning' as 27C expected for counties

Summer is set to continue in Dublin today as Met Eireann predict a "dry, warm and sunny day" at long last.

They say it will be a humid day with light to moderate breezes as temperatures reach 17 to 20 degrees

The night time will be dry also with temperatures just dipping to between 9 and 12 degrees.

As well as this, parts of Ireland have been hit with a 'high-temperature' weather warning.

The status yellow warning is for six counties - Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick - with temperature exceeding 27C on Thursday afternoon.

The warning is in place from 1pm on Thursday until 7pm that night.

But with the good news also comes some bad because hayfever sufferers will be dosed this week as Met Eireann states that there is a high pollen risk during warm, dry and sunny weather".

They added: "Grass, weed and fungal spores are the allergens currently airborne."

The pollen count will remain high for the rest of the week as temperatures rise into the high 20s by Friday.

And, if we inherit any of the weather that is set to hit the UK, we could be in for one of the hottest summers ever.

Mirror.co.uk reports that the Met Office has issued a 'danger' heatwave alert for swathes of the country as temperatures shoot above 30C.

Meteorologists and Public Health England workers have raised the heatwave threat to 'Level 2' for the West Midlands, south-east and south-west England.

In all of these areas, the chance of a heatwave within the next few days is over 60 per cent, with the Met Office warning that conditions could be dangerous, particularly for the very young, old and those with chronic diseases.

Met Office chief meteorologist Dan Suri said: “It’s going to get hot and humid for some from Wednesday, with the highest temperatures expected across southern and western parts of the UK.

"Not everywhere will see the high temperatures, however, as an easterly breeze will keep North Sea coasts much cooler.

“By the time we get to Saturday, however, North Sea coasts will join much of the rest of eastern UK in seeing temperatures of 27 to 32C.”
