Dublin weather forecast: Met Eireann issue Status Yellow snow and ice warning for all of Ireland

Met Eireann have warned there is a chance of snow tonight with a weather alert put in place for the whole country.

The Status Yellow alert was issued this morning at 11am and will remain in place until Sunday morning at 11am.

Wintry showers of hail, sleet and snow with localised accumulations, especially on high ground, and icy stretches on roads and footpaths are forecast.

Outbreaks of sleet and snow are expected on high ground in Dublin this evening and it's already snowing near the famous Johnnie Fox's pub.

It will be very cold tonight with temperatures dropping as low as -3C.

Sunday morning will be cold and frosty with a risk of icy patches.

The day will bring a mix of sunshine and scattered showers.

Some of the showers could be heavy with a risk of hail sleet and thunder with afternoon highs of 3 to 8C.
