Dublin weather forecast as windy morning to give way to 18C temperatures and sunshine

A windy morning has arrived in Dublin following a damp night, but it's going to get better.

Despite predictions from Met Eireann yesterday that it would be a sunny day - Dublin never got to see any of it.

There's a further outlook for today with sunny spells expected, and temperatures to reach up to 18C.

But it will be a breezier day, and we can expect some rain.

Met Eireann says: "Damp locally at first this morning as the last of any overnight rain clears into the Irish Sea. Becoming dry with some good sunny spells developing.

"However, it will be fresher and breezier than recent days with perhaps the odd shower. Highest temperatures 16 to 18 degrees Celsius in moderate to fresh west to northwest breezes.

"Generally dry tonight with clear spells but with the risk of the odd shower. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees Celsius, in a fairly fresh westerly breeze."

Heading into Monday we're looking at more rain, with heavy showers in parts.

Early in the week it's expected that conditions will remain unsettled across the capital.

By the middle of the week, things should begin to change and it looks like warmer weather is on the horizon with temperatures expected to reach up to 21C by Friday.
