Dublin weather forecast as temperatures to jump to 19C despite heavy showers for Ireland

Temperatures are set to rise in Ireland once again, and will heat a peak of 19C in the capital.

Met Eireann has said that we're going to have a bright and sunny start to Tuesday, although that will make way for heavy showers.

Tonight will be quite cold, with some frost even settling on the grass.

As we head into Wednesday, the good weather will continue with temperatures once again reaching 19C with plenty of sunshine.

Met Eireann says: "A bright and sunny start to the day. Cloud will build up through the morning and showers will start to break out. The showers will be heavy in the afternoon but will be well scattered and the weather will still be dry most of the time. Highs of 16 to 19 degrees. Light breezes.

"Mainly dry and clear overnight with lows of 2 to 5 degrees. Grass frost for a short time around dawn.

"There will be the odd shower during tomorrow Wednesday but the day will be mainly dry with good sunshine. Highs of 16 to 19 degrees, light breezes."

As for the rest of the week, we can expect a bit of a drop in temperature on Thursday but that won't make a difference for long.

By Friday it will be nice and sunny again, although there will be some rain mixed in with the 19C temperatures.

And we can expect more of those conditions over the weekend, with Saturday and Sunday looking to be mainly dry.

Met Eireann continued: "On Thursday, Leinster will have a predominantly dry morning but rain will develop across the west and south of the country during the day.

"In the afternoon the rain will break up into showers; the east and north will remain mainly dry except for the odd shower.

"Highs of 13 to 16 degrees, best across Ulster and north-Leinster. Light breezes."

Friday

Bright and sunny during the day but some heavy showers will break out in the afternoon /evening. Highs of 15 to 19 degrees, light northwest winds.

Saturday

Cloudy and damp over Ulster and western coastal counties, but the rest of the country will be generally dry. Highs of 15 to 19 degrees.

Sunday

Some showers but mainly dry. Highs of 14 to 19 degrees in light westerly breezes.
