Dublin weather forecast as Met Eireann warns of rain and thunder making its way to the capital following 21C temperatures

It's another dry and pleasant morning in Dublin but there's rain on the way.

While we can expect it to be mainly dry in the capital, there are some showers on the way this afternoon and later in the evening.

Temperatures are expected to go as high as 21C, so it will still be quite warm.

As for tonight, there's going to be much more rain and that will bringing cooler temperatures.

Top tips for coping with hayfever

Met Eireann says: "This morning will be dry in most areas. However, rain or showers will affect north Ulster and west Munster for a time.

"This afternoon, rain will develop in the south and spread northwards over much of Munster and Leinster this evening. Highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees with light variable or easterly breezes.

"Tonight, outbreaks of rain will extend to most areas and may be heavy at times, especially in the south. Parts of north Ulster will stay mainly dry. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees."

Pollen is also expected to be high across the country today, so hayfever sufferers should be prepared.

Tuesday is expected to bring showers, with a risk of thunder.

After that, Met Eireann says conditions are quite uncertain with indications that some low pressure could bring rain.
