Dublin weather forecast as Met Eireann warns of more mixed conditions across Ireland with wind to bring the chill

It's Monday morning and with it comes another week of weather.

It looks like we're set for quite a cool and breezy day in Dublin, with both sunshine and rain to make an appearance.

The bright, sunny spells will battle with scattered showers some of which are expected to be heavy.

Temperatures are going to reach a maximum of 18C, but the wind is expected to make it chillier.

Met Eireann says: "Quite cool and breezy today, with bright or sunny spells and scattered showers, some of the showers heavy.

"Maximum temperatures 15 to 18 Celsius, in mostly moderate westerly winds.

"Early tonight, most areas will be dry for a time, with clear spells. However, later in the night outbreaks of rain and drizzle will extend from the Atlantic, affecting mainly Connacht, parts of Munster and possibly parts of south Leinster.

"Minimum temperatures 7 to 11 Celsius, in mostly light to moderate westerly breezes."

As for the rest of the week, Met Eireann is warning that we can expect the unsettled conditions to continue.

It's going to be a little bit colder for the next few days but that's expected to change by Thursday when temperatures will reach 22C.

What causes thunder and lightning?

Early predictions are that next weekend will once again be a mixed bag with temperatures expected to drop once again.
