Dublin weather forecast as Met Eireann says there's a sunny 20C day ahead but heavy rain and thunder is on its way to Ireland

A bright start to Sunday morning here in Dublin, and it looks like we're going to have that for most of the day.

There will be an appearance of some cloud at points during the day, but temperatures will remain at around 20C at their highest.

That's ahead of a change during the week, which will see heavy rain and thunder arrive in the capital.

Tonight it will be mainly cloudy, with some mist and drizzle.

Met Eireann says: "Largely dry today with a mix of cloud and sunny intervals. Highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees with sea breezes developing at the coast.

"Becoming mostly cloudy overnight with a few patches of mist or drizzle. Minimum temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees."

The rain will make a small appearance beginning on Monday, although temperatures are expected to rise on Tuesday despite some cloud.

Signs of a change will begin on Wednesday, with more cloud and rain, and humid conditions.

Then on Thursday, there will be a heavy risk of rain and thunder.

It will be quite a warm day, and showers are expected to clear by the nighttime.
