Bank Holiday Monday: Dublin weather forecast as Met Eireann says it's to turn from sunshine to rain showers and it'll continue through the week

We've woken up to lovely sunshine and some light breezes in Dublin on this Bank Holiday Monday.

But while the weather is pleasant, it's not going to stick around as conditions will change later today.

We can expected rain showers on a day that will see temperatures reach 17C.

And if you think we've seen the last of them, think again, because it's only a sign of what's to come.

Met Eireann says: "Today will start largely dry with sunny spells and just a few showers. Later in the day showers will become more frequent. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees. Moderate southwest winds will gradually ease further.

"Scattered showers early tonight will merge into longer spells of rain later tonight. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees. Winds will become light southwest or variable."

Bloom garden festival 2019 runs from 30th May - 3rd June

Throughout Tuesday, we can expect heavy and prolonged rain showers and some thunder will even arrive to Dublin by Wednesday.

Thursday will be more of the same, and Met Eireann says current indications show the low pressure will continue to dominate heading into the weekend.
