Dublin weather forecast as Met Eireann predicts dry conditions after torrential rain and mixed bag ahead for Bank Holiday

It's going to be a pretty dry day in Dublin following the torrential rain we endured yesterday.

There won't be much of that today, except for an isolated shower or two.

Temperatures are set to reach 21C in the capital today, with some cloud and sunshine expected.

It will get a bit colder tonight but thankfully it looks like it's going to remain dry.

Met Eireann says: "Mainly dry today apart from the odd isolated light shower. Cloud amounts will vary, with some bright or sunny spells at times. Highest temperatures of 19 to 21 degrees in light or moderate, west to northwest winds.

"Dry tonight with variable cloud and clear spells. A few mist patches may develop towards dawn. Lowest temperatures will be around 10 or 11 degrees, in a light northwest or variable breeze."

As for tomorrow and heading into the August Bank Holiday weekend - Saturday is going to be a pretty wet day according to predictions.

Thursday and Friday will have plenty of sunshine, with temperatures to reach 23C on the last day of the working week.

Saturday will bring the cloud and the rain, and there will be more of that on Sunday.

All signs are currently pointing to a sunny Bank Holiday Monday although it looks like the brightness will be mixed with rain showers.
