Weather week from hell for Ireland as advisory for 'unsafe conditions' issued by Met Eireann

The country is set to be rocked by "unsafe conditions" and "unseasonably wet and windy weather" this week as a weather advisory has been issued for all of Ireland.

The advisory continues to be in place for the country after being issued yesterday and will remain valid until Saturday at 6pm.

Met Eireann warns: "Unseasonably wet and windy weather is expected at times this week with further rainfall warnings likely and possible wind warnings.

"Windy weather on Thursday and Friday may result in unsafe conditions over high ground, lakes and sea areas."

Today will be mostly cloudy and wet in the morning with isolated heavy or thundery showers developing in the afternoon.

Highest temperatures of 22C will drop to 13C overnight and will remain mainly dry with some clear spells.

Here's how the rest of the week is looking:

Wednesday : "Starting mostly cloudy in the morning with rain extending from the south through the middle of the day, becoming heavy at times. It will gradually clear north by evening. Highest temperatures of 17 to 19 degrees in fresh and gusty east wind veering southeasterly with the passage of the rain."

Summary : "Wet and windy weather is expected up to the weekend with further rainfall warnings likely and possible wind warnings. Becoming fresher over the weekend with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers."

Thursday : "Another band of rain will spread northwards over the country with heavy thundery showers following. It will be mild and blustery with highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees in moderate to fresh and gusty southerly winds, becoming occasionally strong in some coastal areas."

Friday : "Blustery with further spells of rain or showers. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees with fresh, gusty south or southwest winds, strong in some coastal areas."

Saturday : "Fresh and breezy with sunny spells and scattered showers heaviest along Atlantic coasts. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees in moderate to fresh westerly breezes."

Sunday : "Sunny spells and scattered but feeling fresh with highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees in light to moderate westerly breezes."

Further Outlook
: "The early days of next week will be cool, blustery and unsettled with further spells of rain and showers."
