Dublin weather: Five-day heatwave for Ireland say Met Eireann with skyrocketing temperatures ahead of Bank Holiday weekend

Ah yes, the joys of yet another Bank Holiday under strict lockdown - you just know we're in for some serious sunshine.

If we were free to roam around this weekend, you could guarantee that a storm Darragh would already be raging its way through Dublin hitting the country with large balls of thundersnow.

Then again, if my auntie had wheels, she'd be a Toyota Corolla.

But sure look, you still have your back garden to strip down and get your tan on and if you're going to get that real-life Sally Hansen look any time soon, it's going to be over the next five days.

Met Eireann has forecast a five-day heatwave where temperatures float around the mid to low 20C mark from Friday right through to Tuesday with not one bit of rain insight.

Today will kick off dry and sunny with temperatures of 23C becoming slightly cooler near the coast and dropping to 9C with long clear spells.

Here's how the rest of the Bank Holiday and beyond is looking:

Saturday : "It will begin dry and sunny but the sunshine will become hazier at times during the day in light to moderate southeasterly breezes. Warm with highest afternoon temperatures of 20 to 23 degrees, cooler along the coast due to the onshore breeze."

Summary : "Warm and mostly dry weather through the Bank Holiday weekend and current indications are that it will continue for early next week before turning cooler and less settled."

Saturday night : "Dry and mostly clear with patchy mist and fog. Minimum temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in mostly light easterly breezes."

Sunday : "Continuing dry and sunny in most areas, cloudier at times in the north and west. Highest temperatures of 20 to 24 degrees, cooler again on eastern and southern coasts. Sunday night will be dry with mostly clear spells with some mist and fog patches. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees, mildest in the northwest where it will be cloudiest."

Monday : "Dry and sunny generally; however, the odd light shower may potentially break out during the afternoon. Another warm day with highest temperatures of 22 to 25 degrees, in light to moderate easterly breezes. Continuing dry and clear on Monday night, with lowest temperatures 9 to 12 degrees in a light easterly or variable breezes."

Tuesday : "Continuing warm, dry and sunny with maximum temperatures of 20 to 22 degrees generally, but cooler along northern and eastern coasts in light northerly breezes, freshening in the northwest later in the day."
