Dublin weather: As Met Eireann issue STATUS ORANGE warning in Ireland for two days, here's what the forecast is like for the capital

As Met Eireann issue a status orange weather warning for parts of Ireland, they have also said that Dublin will be very wet and windy over the next few days.

Met Eireann currently has three warnings in place, a status orange rainfall warning and a status yellow rainfall and status yellow wind warning.

The orange warning is in place from Saturday 13 April at 6pm until Monday 15 April at 6pm.

Dublin weather forecast: Cold and windy weekend predicted for the capital

Although the capital is not affected, Saturday night in Dublin will continue to be "blustery, with the stiff southeast persisting. Mostly dry too overnight, with just the odd spot of drizzle. Overnight lows of 5 or 6 C."

Sunday in the capital will be "very wet and windy overnight Sunday with heavy rain developing in strong and blustery southeasterly winds, with gales at the coasts.

Met Eireann said: "Some rain at times elsewhere also, but it's likely to be more scattered and there will good dry periods especially in more eastern and northeastern parts.

"Afternoon temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees celsius in very strong and blustery southeast winds with gales in coastal areas."

The status orange rainfall warning is for Waterford and Cork.

Met Eireann said that: "In the 48 hour period from Saturday evening to Monday evening, a spell of heavy rain through Saturday night and Sunday followed by a second spell of heavy rain later on Sunday night and Monday will give large rainfall amounts."
