Dublin weather: 25C SWING as Ireland goes from hottest day of 2020 to minus temperatures say Met Eireann

In true Irish fashion, the weather over the weekend is going to shift from one side of the temperature scale to the next as Met Eireann predicts a staggering 25C swing.

Temperature highs of 22C will drop to a low minus 3C according to the National Forecaster with those minus temperatures following suit on Sunday night also.

Today will be mostly cloudy at first with patches of rain and drizzle.

It will gradually brighten up as the day goes on with temperatures of 15 to 17C.

It will be dry overnight, with clear spells and little or no wind with minimum temperatures of 7 or 8C.

Here's how the long range forecast is looking:

Friday: "It will be a bright and mostly dry day, with sunny spells, but there is a small chance of a few scattered light showers. Maximum temperatures 13 to 16 Celsius, coolest on the coast in light southeasterly or variable breezes."


Friday night : "Dry, with clear spells. In calm conditions, patches of mist and fog will develop. Minimum temperatures 5 to 8 Celsius."

 

Saturday : "Some bright or sunny spells, but cloudy in many areas, especially in the north. Scattered showers also, most of them in the northern half of the country. Warm in most parts, with maximum temperatures of 18 to 21 or 22 Celsius, but cooler in the north and northwest, with maximum values of 14 to 17 degrees. Winds mostly light, northeast or variable. Mostly dry overnight, but some scattered showers or patches of rain will occur and it will gradually turn much colder from the north. Min. 3 to 6 Celsius, in moderate northeast winds."



Sunday : "Cold and breezy, but mainly dry, with sunny spells developing. One or two isolated light showers are possible, especially in the northeast. Max. 8 to 13 Celsius, coldest in the north and east, in mostly moderate northeast winds, fresh to strong on exposed coasts. Dry overnight, but cold, with a touch of frost possible. Min. minus 1 to plus 2 Celsius."



Monday to Thursday (inclusive): "Current indications are for a mainly dry, settled spell of weather. Cold at first, with maximum temperatures of only 10 to 13 Celsius on Monday and with a risk of some frost on Monday night, but temperatures will be closer to normal, or a little below from Tuesday to Thursday, with maximum values of 12 to 15 degrees. Winds mostly light, between east and southeast in direction. Some mist and fog patches are possible at night."
