Ireland recorded above average rainfall, temperatures and sunshine during 2020, with Dublin the driest county of all throughout the year.
The lowest total rainfall recorded in the country in 2020 was at Dublin Airport with 748.99mm, which was 99% of its long-term average.
Phoenix Park was close by, recording 764.4mm or 136% of its long-term average.
Dublin Airport also accounted for the lowest amount of wet days last year, recording 146 days out of 365.
While the lowest amount of very wet days was at Phoenix Park, with only 17 recorded as very wet.
The mean air temperature was lowest at Dublin Airport at -0.1c, with Phoenix Park coming in at 0.7C.
Dublin also account for the lowest and highest percentage of sunshine - there were 1523.1 hours of sunshine at Dublin Airport, which was 105% of its long-term average, and 1495 hours of sunshine at Casement Aerodrome, which was 109% of its long-term average.
Overall, the beginning of 2020 was quite low in pressure, with March and April bringing warmer temperatures and higher pressure to the country.
June and July were both lower in temperature than average, with higher amounts of rainfall. August was a warm and wet month.
September started off warm but went cold, and that continued into October with stormy conditions arriving by the end of the month.
In contrast, November was relatively mild compared to normal, but December was quite cold and wet overall except for Christmas Day before Storm Bella hit the country.
