Residents of a quiet Dublin village are currently living in fear after their Post Office and a local shop were targeted by thugs just hours apart.
Donabate locals were rattled on Wednesday morning when they woke up to news that a popular nearby shop had been hit up by one group just before midnight while another set of thieves targeted the PO just after 9am.
Two people have been arrested for the shop theft while a manhunt is under way by Gardai to find the second gang involved in the Post Office raid.
Social Democrats Councillor for Rush-Lusk Paul Mulville said that workers involved in these horrific incidents have been left badly traumatised as a result.
He said: "Following robberies at two different local premises in Donabate, I have spoken to Gardaí in Swords who say that they are making progress in their investigations.
"Gardaí have confirmed that they have arrested two people in relation to the shop incident and they both remain assisting Gardaí with their enquiries. If anyone has any information that may be of help to Swords Gardaí, please contact them on: 01 6664700."

He continued: "In relation to the incident at the Post Office, Gardaí have asked that if any member of the public witnessed a red or wine-coloured car parked in the church car park around 9am, or leaving the vicinity shortly afterward, about 9.15, they would like to hear from you."
He added: "Not to forget also that anyone working in these premises may have been badly traumatised as a result of these incidents, and all in the community will surely be keeping those affected in their thoughts at this time."
