Dublin traffic updates: Distressing city scenes as cyclist put into ambulance after car smash

One cyclist was rushed to hospital this morning after a smash with a car in Dublin city centre.

Gardai rushed to the scene of the two vehicle collision shortly after 10am on Leeson Bridge.

Pictures emerged from the incident which showed the injured cyclist being treated by emergency services.

The injured man on the bike was taken to St. James's Hospital as a precaution with enquires ongoing into the crash.

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí attended a two vehicle road traffic collison that occurred between a car and bicycle on Leeson Bridge at approximately 10:20am this morning."

He added: "A male cyclist was taken to St James Hospital as a precaution."
